Welcome to Dancing in the Rain!

Updated: Feb 5, 2021

My name is Carly Jean Paul, and I am thrilled to welcome you to my new website! The launch of this site has been a long time coming, and I can't wait to share more about myself.

In 2014, I was crowned Miss Twin Counties, serving the Ventura and Los Angeles Counties. I was a freshman in college, studying Music Theatre at AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts in Los Angeles. During my time as a titleholder, I decided that I wanted to make a difference, and make an impact on my community. I planned, wrote the script, directed, and performed in a benefit concert entitled Songs for a Better World: A World Without AIDS. As a performer and someone who is heavily involved in the arts scene in Los Angeles County, this platform meant the world to me. It was a chance to help friends, faculty, students and loved ones, and work towards finding a cure to a disease that has affected so many already.

That day, I fell in love with a new art form: Wedding and Event Planning.

I had planned and organized quite a few events after that, but my schoolwork quickly became my sole focus. Until one day during my senior year, my teacher and now mentor, Justin Key, told us that we had a new project: Create a Business for Yourself. I went through idea after idea ranging between a cookbook line and a Los Angeles based safe haven for actors, dancers, and singers to rehearse and relax, before finally realizing that it was time for Dancing in the Rain Weddings and Events to come alive.

I set off with laptop and business plan in hand, and have built my company from the ground up. I got hired by AMDA after graduation and became the Orientation Coordinator for two semesters before leaving to start my own company. I was an Orientation Leader during my time at AMDA, and stepping in to lead those who inspired me as a student was a dream come true. I had the ultimate post-grad job! I found my niche for organization, communication, and inspiring others to follow their dreams as I had mine.

To friends and family reading this post, thank you for your never-ending love and support. To previous clients, thank you for giving a young girl with a dream a chance. To new clients, I cannot wait to get started and create the event of your dreams, so perfect it'll leave you Dancing in the Rain!
